Unreadable
Client:
Dyslexia Action
Brief:
Raise awareness about dyslexia and those who suffer from it
–
Solution:
One in five people in Britain suffers from dyslexia. It is only in recent years that this learning disability has been recognized. Thousands of people, mainly as children, have been wrongly labeled as stupid or slow by their teachers and others. This campaign seeks to raise awareness for those with dyslexia, emphasizing that dyslexia is not a measure of intelligence. People with dyslexia can train their brains to improve.
The premise of this brief suggests that with time and determination, individuals with dyslexia can enhance their brain's functioning. Given the appropriate assistance, they can master their learning challenges. As an analogy, the word ‘Unreadable’ engraved onto a pencil becomes ‘Readable’ and ultimately ‘Able’ as the pencil is progressively sharpened. This symbolizes that with the right support, those with dyslexia become increasingly adept in their academic pursuits.
